Specialists from the Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology, together with an employee of KUPP "Borovka", conducted a monitoring of anti-icing measures during the winter period in the town of Lepel.

During the inspection, it was established that the municipal service is carrying out the cleaning of porches, steps, and adjacent areas from snow and ice of residential buildings.

Tatyana Buinitskaya, senior foreman of the landscaping department of KUPP "Borovka", noted that over 30 employees of KUPP "Borovka" are currently engaged in snow removal in the district. The work of 3 tractors, 2 MAZ trucks, and 3 loaders was also recorded.

Natalya Tarasova, assistant hygienist of the Lepel District Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology, explained that during the winter period, special requirements are imposed on the maintenance and cleaning of populated areas. Sanitary cleaning is aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of residents, as well as maintaining the normal functioning of the entire infrastructure. After all, timely and high-quality snow and ice removal helps prevent road traffic accidents, reduce the risk of pedestrian injuries, and ensure the uninterrupted operation of all services.

According to current technical regulations, during the winter period, it is necessary to regularly clear ramps, porches, steps of buildings and structures, as well as pedestrian paths and public transport stops from snow, ice, and snow-ice formations. If necessary, approved anti-icing agents should be used to ensure safety. The sizes of the territories where work should be carried out to maintain sanitary conditions are determined by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 430 of July 22, 2020.

In accordance with this document, the clearing of all types of surfaces from snow and ice, as well as their treatment with anti-icing agents, should be carried out as needed. In conditions of heavy snowfall, blizzards, and icy conditions, this work should be performed regularly, at least once a day.

In the designated areas during the winter period, it is required to clear the roadway and pedestrian paths from snow and ice, as well as to remove snow to specially designated storage sites. All actions must comply with the mandatory requirements of technical standards concerning the safe condition of roads.
