On September 6, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Vitebsk customs officers seized a cargo of cigarettes worth Br161 million, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk customs. In the Braslav district at the URPP "Urbany" a vehicle was detained, travelling without cargo for exit from Belarus, driven by a driver of the carrier company LUVEL TRANSPORTAS (Lithuania). During customs control, the department's officers discovered 20.2 thousand packs of cigarettes in the refrigerated semi-trailer, marked with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus. The tobacco products were hidden in a specially made compartment located in the roof of the semi-trailer. It was made by altering the factory design of the refrigerated semi-trailer: instead of the removed thermal insulation material, the offenders placed cigarettes. The illegal cargo worth Br161 million and a SCHMITZ semi-trailer with a compartment, with a total value of Br250 million, have been seized. An investigation is underway. -0-
