Religion

There are 17 registered religious organisations of five denominations operating in the district, including:

  • 12 Orthodox communities (five in Lepel town, in Chereyshchina village, Yurkovshchina village, Makarovshchina village, Sloboda village, Domzheritsy village, Borovka village, Zaslonovo village);
  • 1 Roman Catholic (Lepel town);
  • 2 Christians of Evangelical Faith (Lepel town, Gorodinets village);
  • 1 Evangelical Christian Baptists (Lepel town);
  • 1 Seventh-day Adventists (Lepel town).

Religious organisations of Lepel District own 13 places of worship, 4 of which are architectural monuments: St. Casimir's Church (Lepel town, built in 1876) and three Orthodox churches - St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa (Lepel town, 1868), St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (Makarovshchina village, 1894), St. George the Victorious (Lepel town, 1900).
