The Security Council will develop proposals on the organisation of additional security measures in Belarus by the end of April and submit them for the President's consideration. This was announced to a BELTA correspondent by Security Council Secretary Leonid Maltsev. He held a reception for citizens in Vitebsk today at the joint Belarusian-Russian enterprise "Belvest". "There is a Presidential instruction, according to which the Security Council is working out additional measures to ensure security at various facilities, including metro stations, railway stations, markets, shopping centres, and other places with mass gatherings of people. Security is also being analysed at other facilities, with regard to their vulnerability to various factors. The country's security system as a whole is being reviewed, and how to improve it," explained Leonid Maltsev. When developing additional measures, proposals from ministries, departments, and scientific organisations are taken into account. This concerns not only public security but also other types, for example, industrial security. According to Leonid Maltsev, the relevant proposals will be reported to the Head of State at the end of April and, after approval, will be implemented. -0-
