The UN Human Rights Council on March 16 approved the results of the universal periodic review of Belarus, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed a BELTA correspondent.
"The 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) approved the report of the HRC working group on the universal periodic review (UPR) of Belarus of the third cycle, which took place on November 2, 2020. 92 states showed interest in the review of Belarus, the majority of which positively assessed our country's efforts in implementing the recommendations of the second review cycle," the press service reported.
Following the third review cycle, Belarus has accepted the majority of the recommendations proposed by the states.
Belarus remains committed to the UPR process, which serves as an alternative monitoring tool for development and human rights issues in all states without exception, based on constructive dialogue and cooperation.
