On January 26, Mir /Tatsiana Pastushenko - BELTA/. The decisions of the Republican Council for Culture and Arts under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus will promote dialogue between the state and the public. This opinion was expressed to a BELTA correspondent by the Minister of Culture of Belarus, Pavel Latushko. "The Council will promote dialogue between the state and the public on the most important issues concerning the development of culture and arts in Belarus. The exchange of ideas and obtaining information from primary sources for the development and implementation of specific proposals is very important for us," noted Pavel Latushko. Culture is a living organism, and significant resources have been accumulated for its development in recent years. However, the time has come to make certain decisions to give new impetus to the development of culture. "We will build on what has already been created, while taking into account innovative approaches," the minister explained. In his opinion, it is necessary to enhance the image of Belarusian culture abroad and develop cooperation with businessmen and private enterprises. At the first meeting of the public council, which took place today at Mir Castle, issues concerning the further development of Belarusian culture, the prospects of national theatrical art, regional and traditional culture, aesthetic and artistic education in general secondary schools of the country, and the protection of historical and cultural heritage were considered. In addition, the council's work plan for 2011 and for the future was approved, and permanent working and sectional working groups were established to preliminarily consider and elaborate on topical issues.
