The Speaker emphasized that the decisions made by the President on socio-economic development require fundamentally new actions from the parliament. This concerns the improvement of the legal framework governing relations in the sphere of business initiative, investment activities, public-private partnerships, as well as raising people's living standards and their social protection. Mikhail Myasnikovich recalled that in January of this year, the Head of State approved the plan for the preparation of draft laws for 2018. The development of 39 draft laws and two concepts for draft laws is planned. "The work on the implementation of this decree should provide for the regulatory and legal support for the practical implementation of the main priorities of socio-economic development approved by the Fifth All-Belarusian People's Congress: investment, employment, export, informatization, youth policy," said the Chairman of the Council of the Republic.
"Legislative activity at the present stage requires the introduction of innovative mechanisms for the preparation of normative legal acts. First of all, the organization of proper forecasting of the consequences of adopting legislative acts, their regulatory impact, and scientific expertise," noted Mikhail Myasnikovich.
