On September 27, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Belarusian and Russian border guards protect the borders of the Union State not only with weapons but also with songs. The "Together in Defence of the Commonwealth Borders" event, featuring the Central Border Ensemble of the FSB of Russia, has commenced its tour across Belarus from the Polotsk Border Detachment, as reported to BELTA correspondent by Denis Glebko, Assistant Head of the Polotsk Border Detachment.
The singing Russian border guards congratulated their colleagues from the Polotsk Detachment on their 20th anniversary and gave a two-hour concert in Novopolotsk. The ensemble's repertoire includes dance numbers, instrumental music, and songs, including the Belarusian favourites "Kupalinka", "Zacharovanaya", and "Belovezhskaya Pushcha", which the guests performed in the Belarusian language. This performance marked the beginning of their tour across Belarus.
The State Border Committee of Belarus, in cooperation with the Border Service of the FSB of Russia, has planned concerts in other Belarusian cities as well – Molodechno, Lida, and Minsk.
It is worth noting that this is the fourth visit of the Central Border Ensemble of the FSB of Russia to Belarus as part of the "Together in Defence of the Commonwealth Borders" event. -0-
