7 August, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. Eight modern grain drying complexes have been commissioned in the Vitebsk region, the Agriculture and Food Committee of the Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
Grain drying complexes of Belarusian production with a capacity of 30-40 tons of grain per hour have been put into operation in the Shumilino, Braslav, Vitebsk, Miory, Orsha, Sharkovshchina, Tolochin, and Beshenkovichi districts.
The Regional Committee for Agriculture and Food emphasized that the modernization of the region's grain drying facilities is being carried out in accordance with Decree No. 143 of April 2, 2013, "On the volumes and sources of financing for the purchase of modern agricultural machinery and equipment in 2013."
The supply and installation of equipment are carried out through leasing, while the construction of foundations, the connection of utility networks, and the landscaping of the territory are carried out by the agricultural enterprises at their own expense. "When selecting sites for the construction of grain drying complexes, the focus was on regions where there is a shortage of capacity for post-harvest drying of grown grain, as well as on those farms where outdated dryers have been in operation for about two decades. With the commissioning of modern complexes, farms will be able to process grain on-site, which will undoubtedly significantly reduce the costs for grain producers and improve their financial situation," the Regional Committee for Agriculture and Food noted.
By the end of the year, another 7 complexes will be installed in the Vitebsk region. In the Verkhnedvinsk, Tolochin, and Dokshitsy districts, the work is nearing completion, and in the Senno, Sharkovshchina, Rossony, and Miory districts, the complexes will be commissioned during the autumn of the current year.
There are 146 grain drying complexes operating in the region. To ensure timely and high-quality grain processing, reduce losses, and taking into account the increase in grain production volumes, the region needs about 200 complexes.-0-
