On the occasion of a grand anniversary, LK is launching a special section where it will share interesting facts about Europe's renowned nature reserve with our readers.

The Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve is the only specially protected natural territory of the highest rank in the Republic of Belarus. It is a unique natural complex, encompassing an exceptional diversity of forest, meadow, and bog types, the unique floodplain complex of the Berezina River, numerous large and small rivers, and incomparable lakes.

On January 30, 1925, the Council of People's Commissars of the BSSR, with the aim of protecting and breeding valuable wild animals, especially river beavers, issued the Decree "On the Establishment of a State Hunting Reserve in the Borisov District" – the Berezinsky Reserve.
