"I want to serve in the army" – a song with this title brought victory to Dana Zinurova, a sixth-grader at Borovskaya Secondary School, in the qualifying stage of the XVI "Zvezda" Army Song Television Festival among the military units of the North-Western Operational Command. Seventh-grader Diana Yeritsyan and eleventh-grader Yana Pavlovskaya shared the second place.

"I want to serve in the army" – a song with this title brought victory to Dana Zinurova, a sixth-grader at Borovskaya Secondary School, in the qualifying stage of the XVI "Zvezda" Army Song Television Festival among the military units of the North-Western Operational Command. Seventh-grader Diana Yeritsyan and eleventh-grader Yana Pavlovskaya shared the second place. The auditions took place at the club of the 120th Division in the capital.
Later, in the assembly hall of the school, in a solemn ceremony, Major Dmitry Rudenkov, Deputy Commander for Ideological Work of the 427th Rocket Artillery Regiment, presented the winners with diplomas. And if previously only children of military personnel could participate in this festival, now everyone living on the territory of the military town is allowed to perform army songs. Army song, original, military-patriotic, vocal-instrumental ensemble – four nominations and over a hundred participants. The schoolgirls represented three military units stationed in Borovka.
By the way, the cooperation between Borovskaya Secondary School and the 231st Artillery Brigade and the 427th Rocket Regiment is not limited to song contests. Annually, during the summer, patriotic detachments are formed at the school from children who are registered in all types of records. Educators are representatives of military units. Conscripts, contract soldiers, and officers teach the children how to assemble an assault rifle, drill – everything necessary for army life. For the first year, ordinary school classrooms even replaced the barracks where the children lived.
The schoolchildren congratulate the military units with a traditional concert on the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery. And in February, during the month of patriotic education, cadets from among the graduates, representatives of military units, are invited to the school. "Service in the Army" is a career guidance talk show held at this school. Its main guests are military personnel.
