The competitions, dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, will take place on November 11 at the Vitebsk Ice Palace. They will feature six sports: bocce, wheelchair obstacle driving, table tennis, darts, draughts, and ring toss. This year's participants will include athletes representing public associations and organisations from four regions of Belarus. Among them are Vitebsk and Vitebsk region, Gomel, Mozyr, Klimovichi, Bobruisk, Minsk, and Mogilev.
"Every year, the number of participants in the sports event and the geographical reach of the athletes attending are expanding. Two categories of participants are admitted to the sports event - T4 ("paraplegics") and T3 ("quadriplegics")," the sports and tourism department added.
The competitions are held to promote a healthy lifestyle, develop physical culture and sports among people with disabilities, as well as to improve health and reduce morbidity.
