The "Museum Night - 2017" event at the Marc Chagall Art Centre in Vitebsk is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the artist's birth, BELTA was informed by the institution.

The programme will open with the play "Return to Chagall" staged by the school theatre "Rozdum" (Secondary School No. 42, Vitebsk). The play is based on the autobiographical books "My Life" by Marc Chagall and "Burning Lights" by Bella Chagall. The interactive part of the museum night will take place against the backdrop of the exhibition "130 Years - 130 Masterpieces. A Retrospective of Marc Chagall's Work from the Museum's Collection". The exhibition features the artist's most iconic works from the museum's collection: the etching "Grandmother", a series of illustrations for Nikolai Gogol's poem "Dead Souls", aquatints "Aleko", "Lovers under a Tree" and "Pierrot", woodcuts for Marc Chagall's poems, etc.

"Throughout the evening, visitors will be able to explore the graphic techniques used by Marc Chagall in his work and participate in a masterclass. For puzzle enthusiasts, staff have prepared quizzes and tasks that reveal the secrets of the artist's imagery and plots. Documentary and animated films will be shown all evening. The most active participants will receive prizes," the Art Centre emphasised.

The events will be held at the Art Centre on 19 May from 18:00 to 22:00 (free admission).
