As practice shows, crimes committed during emerging family quarrels and conflicts often surpass premeditated, well-prepared criminal acts in their cruelty and the severity of their consequences. Every third murder and every fourth case of intentional grievous bodily harm occur within the sphere of domestic relations.
Practically every fifth person who dies from external causes perishes from accidental alcohol poisoning, whereas one in eight deaths is related to vehicles.
Drunkenness is one of the most negative social phenomena in society, leading to family distress, causing irreparable harm to the institution of the family, hindering the full development of minors, negatively affecting the crime situation, and in some cases leading to tragic consequences. In the Lepel district alone, over 10 months of 2019, 8 crimes were committed in the sphere of domestic relations (compared to 4 in 2018).
In this regard, from November 25 to December 2, 2019, the republican special comprehensive event "Byt" (Domestic Sphere) is being held in the Lepel district. During the "Byt" event, employees of the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs will visit individuals at their place of residence who have previously committed offenses and crimes in the sphere of domestic relations and are under preventive supervision at the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs, with the aim of preventing them from committing offenses and domestic violence.
