As practice shows, crimes committed during emerging family quarrels and conflicts are often superior in cruelty and severity of consequences to premeditated, well-prepared criminal acts. Every third murder and every fourth case of grievous bodily harm is committed within the sphere of family and domestic relations.
Drunkenness is one of the most negative social phenomena in society, leading to family distress, causing irreparable harm to the institution of the family, hindering the full development of minors, negatively affecting the crime situation, and in some cases leading to tragic consequences. In the Lepel district alone, during the current period of 2021, 1 particularly serious crime (murder) was committed in the sphere of family and domestic relations (2020 - 0).
In this regard, from August 27 to September 2, 2021, a special comprehensive event "Byt" (Domestic Life) is being held in the Lepel district. During the "Byt" event, employees of the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs will visit the places of residence of individuals who have previously committed offenses and crimes in the sphere of family and domestic relations and are under preventive supervision at the Department of Internal Affairs, with the aim of preventing them from committing offenses and domestic violence. A total of 120 citizens under preventive supervision at the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs are subject to checks, including: 47 citizens under preventive supervision for committing offenses against a family member.
