For the fifth year, personnel of the "Energosbyt" branch have been extensively replacing the park of electricity metering devices in the Vitebsk region. Instead of induction electricity meters, energy workers are installing electronic metering devices with the subsequent implementation of automated systems for control and accounting of electricity (ASKUE). This is reported by the Telegram channel "Vitebskenergo".
However, technical progress does not stand still. Manufacturers of electricity meters are constantly developing and implementing innovative technologies. Approaches are being applied to create intelligent networks with the capability for remote reading of electricity meter data during the reconstruction or new construction of 0.4 kV networks in individual housing development areas. The first "smart" meters have also appeared in the Vitebsk region. For example, in the settlement of Torchilovo, Orsha district, personnel of the "Orsha Electric Networks" and "Energosbyt" branches have commissioned an ASKUE based on meters with a split architecture, also known as SPLIT meters. The region's energy workers install and maintain modern metering devices on a gratuitous basis.
A SPLIT electricity meter is an electronic intelligent device that is structurally divided into two parts. The measuring part (measuring unit) performs all the functionality of a multi-tariff meter. This part of the meter is installed in a location inaccessible to the consumer, usually near a power line pole on the power wires leading to the consumer. The consumer part (indicator device) is installed in any location convenient for the consumer and performs the function of displaying readings. The meter registers active energy in the forward direction and is equipped with a disconnect relay. The metering device has long-term memory; even if it is completely de-energized, the data is saved. SPLIT meters are integrated into the ASKUE system and, after connection, transmit information about energy consumption to a personal account. Readings can be viewed from any computer or mobile device.
