On December 2nd of the current year, a sports event was held at the "Yunost-Ushachi" sports and recreation complex, with the participation of people with disabilities and volunteers from five districts of the Vitebsk region: Gluboksky, Chashniksky, Lepelsky, Ushachsky, and Beshenkovichsky.
Lepel was represented by the "Syabry" team, which included visitors from the day care unit for people with disabilities of the Lepel District Territorial Centre for Social Services, and members of the "BelTIZ" public association for the Lepel District. Students of the Lepel State Agrarian-Technical College (volunteer detachment "Dobroye Serdtse" under the guidance of organiser Svetlana Stelmak) supported the team as volunteers.
Emotions ran high in the sports hall for two hours. The team members, most of whom experience significant health problems, demonstrated their abilities in improvised bowling, quickly composing wishes for their rivals, rolling balls using hoops, and even trying their hand at hockey.
All teams were awarded diplomas and sweet gifts. The "Syabry" from the Lepel region took an honourable third place.
Each participant, with their vigour and strength of spirit, proved that all life's challenges are surmountable, and life with a disability is not a sentence!
