"Medical genetics is highly developed at the Republican Center for Genomic Biotechnologies. This is a sought-after field. We have already conducted over 100,000 genetic tests, and the demand for them is constantly increasing," said Valentina Lemesh.
The genetic testing service for athletes is also in demand. "We have tested over 500 elite athletes from 30 national teams for genes associated with athletic success, determining sprinting and endurance abilities. We are developing programs for the so-called gene expression, which is very important for an individual approach to athletes. It is necessary to know when each of them reaches peak form and when a decline occurs," noted the institute's director.
The Republican Center for Genomic Biotechnologies provides services in the field of molecular genetics in agriculture, medicine, sports, and environmental protection.
