The fire broke out on January 11 around 9:30 PM in a brick residential house in the village of Adamionki. The owner of the house (a pensioner born in 1949) was asleep at the time, while his wife was at the neighbours'. The man woke up to the signal of the activated autonomous fire alarm (AFA), left the house on his own, and ran to his neighbour, who then called the fire department.
The fire was extinguished twenty minutes later. As a result of the fire, walls, a bed, and property in the room were damaged.
As the homeowner recounted, the AFA was purchased and installed in November of last year. The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that without this purchase, the consequences of the fire could have been much more tragic.
