In January-May of the current year, the nominal accrued average monthly wage in the budget sector in Belarus amounted to Br826.8 thousand, the National Statistical Committee informed BelTA correspondent. The average wage of public sector employees in May 2010 was Br859.1 thousand, an increase of 2.1%, or Br17.8 thousand, compared to April of the current year. The real wage of employees of budgetary organizations in January-May of the current year increased by 3.4% compared to the same period last year. This indicator in May increased by 1.3% compared to April 2010. In healthcare organizations, the average wage in May was Br855.2 thousand, and in educational institutions - Br768.9 thousand. In organizations of science and scientific services, this indicator was Br1,540.8 thousand, including in institutions conducting research work - Br1,511.9 thousand, of which in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus - Br1,368.2 thousand. Belstat noted that in organizations of culture and arts, the average wage in May was Br833.7 thousand. For employees of physical culture and sports organizations, the average wage reached Br1,180 thousand. As BelTA reported, the nominal accrued average monthly wage of employees in Belarus (excluding small businesses of non-state ownership) in January-May of the current year amounted to Br1,078.2 thousand. The average May wage increased by 3.7% (by Br41.6 thousand) compared to April and amounted to Br1,158.4 thousand. Real wages (calculated taking into account the growth of consumer prices for goods and services) in January-May of the current year increased by 6.9% compared to January-May 2009. This indicator in May increased by 2.9% compared to April 2010. In industrial enterprises of Belarus, the average wage in May was Br1,298.7 thousand, which is 12.1% higher than the national average wage.
