  Reflective elements enhance pedestrian visibility on unlit roads and significantly reduce the risk of road traffic accidents involving them.

  When driving with low beam headlights, a driver can see a pedestrian on the road at a distance of 25-50 metres. If the pedestrian uses a reflector, this distance increases to 150-200 metres.

  When driving with high beam headlights, the distance at which a pedestrian becomes visible, with the use of reflectors, increases from 100 metres to 350 metres. This gives the driver 15-25 seconds to make a decision.

  Only high-quality reflectors should be chosen. They should be white or lemon-coloured and in the shape of a circle or a strip. Other colours and intricate shapes are less effective.

  It is important to ensure that reflectors are within the drivers' field of vision and not hidden by items or parts of clothing.
