The republican campaign "Unified Safety Day" has commenced in Lepel district on the town square. On this day, rescuers, in conjunction with representatives of various services and organisations of the district, organised a "Safety Fair" for the town's residents, featuring contests and prizes, diverse educational programmes, and an exhibition of equipment. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) set up an interactive area called "Safety Station". Rescue service representatives informed the town's residents about safety rules for behaviour at home, on the street, and in public places. They explained the operating principle of autonomous fire detectors.
Fair visitors enthusiastically participated in various contests and games. Event participants collectively solved riddles, deciphered words, answered questions in mini-quizzes, and practiced calling rescuers. They also worked through various situational tasks related to providing first aid to an injured person, fire safety procedures, and evacuation rules in shopping centres. MES employees conducted a preventative discussion with parents, reiterating the prohibition of leaving children unattended.
The town's residents recalled how to use a fire extinguisher and took part in contests such as "Safe Stove," "Install API," and "Call Rescuers." MES representatives presented the mobile application "MES Belarus: Help is Nearby." Emergency rescue equipment and machinery from the MES unit were also demonstrated at the event. Every resident of Lepel region had the opportunity to experience being a rescuer: they sat in the cabin of a fire engine, learned how to use a fire extinguisher, and, importantly, received valuable advice from MES employees. Those who visited the "Safety Fair" were presented with visual materials on fire safety topics, as well as prizes.
