Presidential scholarships of Belarus for 2016 have been awarded to 82 postgraduate students. This is stipulated by Decree No. 17rp "On the Award of Scholarships to Postgraduate Students", signed by the Head of State Alexander Lukashenko, as reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

These include representatives of physical-mathematical, technical, chemical, biological, medical, agrarian, social, and humanitarian sciences. These are talented young postgraduate students conducting dissertation research in priority areas of scientific and scientific-technical activities. Many of them have certificates of implementation of obtained results into production, medical practice of healthcare institutions, educational process, patents for inventions, utility models, or positive decisions on patent issuance.
The scientific achievements of the scholarship holders will be used in enterprises, organisations, and institutions of the country's social sphere.
The adoption of Decree No. 17rp is evidence of the state's support for promising postgraduate students, the development of scientific schools, and the scientific potential of Belarus.
