On June 19, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. A meeting of the Commission on State Pricing Regulation under the Council of Ministers of Belarus was held in Minsk. As reported to BelTA correspondent by the press center of the Ministry of Education, the commission decided to support the proposal of the Ministry of Education to increase the tuition fees in state institutions of higher and secondary vocational education by no more than 5% from June 1, due to a 5% increase in the tariff rate of the first category from May 1 of this year. The press center noted that this change in tuition fees will not affect students and pupils of graduating courses. The last increase in tuition fees occurred on February 1. At that time, the Ministry of Education conducted a monitoring of price forecasts for paid education in certain higher education institutions. Taking into account the monitoring data, the ministry recommended that educational institutions increase the cost of paid education compared to the then-current price for full-time, part-time, and evening study by no more than 29%, taking into account the economically justified costs necessary for training a specialist in a specific specialty (specialization) at a given educational institution. Prices for paid education in state educational institutions are formed in accordance with Decree No. 126 "On Certain Issues of Obtaining Higher and Secondary Vocational Education on a Paid Basis" dated February 28, 2006, adopted regulatory legal acts for the implementation of the decree, and concluded contracts for specialist training. -0-
