On May 5, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The capital of the Belarusian Written Language Day, Glubokoye, will become a city of flowers. Specialists from the housing and communal services department of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee expressed confidence in this in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent. It is planned to plant about 50 thousand seedlings of annual flowers, and more than 1 thousand shrubs along the streets. Over 700 bushes of physocarpus and acacia already adorn the city. Soon, 70 linden and chestnut trees, a dozen rowan trees, and about two dozen coniferous trees will be added to them. Greening work is underway on almost all central streets. Enterprises and organizations of Glubokoye have come to the aid of utility workers. Beautification work in the district center began long before Glubokoye was officially declared the capital of the Belarusian Written Language Day in 2012. Currently, measures are being implemented according to the plan for the city's preparation for the celebrations, which includes the repair and improvement of city streets, buildings and structures, and recreational areas. The festival will be held in Glubokoye on September 2. Glubokoye district has a rich cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage: it houses 61 architectural monuments, an ancient settlement, burial mounds, as well as 17 churches - architectural monuments, four of which are of republican significance.
