The RIHS has launched a national project to develop a State Youth Policy Strategy for 2020-2030. "This is extremely important for Belarus, as the country has not had a document like the State Youth Policy Development Strategy before. The time has come for the state to define the future direction of youth policy, to identify the spheres and areas where young people need support and guarantees. On the other hand, the younger generation also has an emerging internal need to create its own vision for the next decade of their lives," noted Lyudmila Kozhukhovskaya.
"For Belarus, intellectual potential and its preservation within the republic is a very important task. We hope that the work on the strategy will be carried out through public discussion. Therefore, a large number of discussion platforms are planned around key points of youth policy. We will discuss family values, spirituality, youth access to the labour market, and more. We do not have much time. After this, a complete picture will emerge, and Belarus will have a State Youth Policy Development Strategy," added the Vice-Rector.
Thematic discussion platforms for open discussion of the current state and prospects for the development of state youth policy throughout 2018-2019 will operate in both real and virtual formats. The topic of the pilot discussion, which is taking place at the RIHS, is "Gifted Youth: Opportunities and Threats". Participants include authoritative experts, representatives of higher education institutions, and talented youth from all regions of the country. Broad public discussion of current issues and directions for the development of youth policy will allow for the formation of a package of proposals that will form the basis of the strategy.
