The construction of the Orsha transport and logistics center (TLC) on the territory of the Orsha aircraft repair plant is at the stage of pre-project preparation. This was announced today to journalists by Pavel Bozhanov, Head of the Department of Strategic Development, Coordination and Investment of Transport Systems of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus, BELTA correspondent reports. Two Chinese companies are acting as investors in the project, which are currently developing a unified policy. "Hong Kong company SVT Development (logistik) Limited is interested in the construction of the TLC in order to use it for the delivery of Chinese goods in the future, the second Chinese company is more interested in the aircraft repair plant itself," he noted. Such a fortunate coincidence of interests of the two investors, according to Pavel Bozhanov, guarantees the success of this project. The new TLC will be located at the intersection of the 2nd and 9th international transport corridors. The Orsha aircraft repair plant has an airfield capable of receiving aircraft of almost all types, and railway tracks are nearby. In the future, the logistics center will be able to serve cargo flows from Warsaw, Tallinn and other directions. Speaking about the construction of a second runway at the National Airport Minsk, the representative of the ministry said that the general plan for this project is currently being developed. "After the Chinese side submits the general plan for construction for approval by the Belarusian side, we can talk about the practical stage of this project. Only after its approval will we proceed to direct implementation," emphasized Pavel Bozhanov. "However, I hope that we will be able to start construction in the near future." -0-
