The architectural and planning concept for St. Sophia Cathedral in Vitebsk was developed by "StroyTorgService" LLC. The organizer of the public discussion is the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.
The construction project will be available for viewing from June 9 to June 23 at the Holy Assumption Cathedral (Krylova Street, 9). Its presentation will take place on June 11, from 10:00 to 11:00, in the same church. Additionally, the project will be posted on the city executive committee's website in the "Public Discussions" section.
Comments and suggestions from participants of the public discussion will be considered by the regional architectural and urban planning council no later than July 17.

The new church will be a replica of St. Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk, built in the 11th century under Prince Vseslav the Sorcerer. The church was blown up in the 18th century during the Great Northern War by soldiers of Peter I. However, during the construction of a new baroque-style cathedral in Polotsk, the foundations were preserved. Specialists studied them, and the upper part of St. Sophia in Vitebsk will be built based on these measurements.
