This year marks the 60th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Prokopstov – a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, laureate (as part of a team) of the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus in the nomination "Museum Work" in 2008, director of the National Art Museum of our country, and honorary citizen of Lepel District. In Lepel, at the local history museum, a personal exhibition of Vladimir Ivanovich's paintings has opened, titled "Strings of Space and Time. Painting," a very witty and eloquent title.

Nikolai Nikitin, Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, warmly congratulated Vladimir Prokopstov on this occasion and presented him with a commemorative gift. Vladimir Ivanovich was also sincerely welcomed that day by numerous admirers of his artistic work, who filled the museum's auditorium. They took a keen interest in a number of new works by Vladimir Prokopstov, as well as in the original paintings by famous Russian artists of the 19th century from the collections of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, which Vladimir Ivanovich brought with him as a special gift to the people of Lepel – lovers of fine art. These world-renowned paintings are united in an exhibition titled "The World of Childhood. Russian Painting of the 19th Century."
