15 July, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. A student "Slavianski Bazaar" may be launched as early as next year. This was announced today at a meeting with the State Secretary of the Union State, Grigory Rapota, by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports.
Higher education institutions of the Vitebsk region closely cooperate with higher education institutions of Russian regions not only in scientific and educational spheres, but also in cultural ones. It was within the student environment that the idea of creating a student forum of arts was born, which would unite and showcase the talents of young people from Belarus, Russia, and other countries. The youth initiative has found support at a high state level, Alexander Kosinets added. "Youth is our future. These are the future heads of enterprises, politicians. If they build good relationships in their youth, it is a guarantee that they will continue in the future. This will undoubtedly benefit our states," the governor is confident.
The festival, tentatively named "Student "Slavianski Bazaar" or "Student Slavic Gathering," is expected to take place in May-June. The State Secretary of the Union State, Grigory Rapota, liked this idea. "Culture serves not only to unite peoples, it is an economic category. According to sociological surveys, in those regions of Russia where culture is given due attention, young people prefer to stay in their small homeland," he added. -0-
