24 October, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The Student of the Year will be chosen today in the Vitebsk region, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM.
The regional round of the republican competition "Student of the Year" will be held in the regional center at the House of Culture of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine. The best students of the region's higher education institutions, who won the university stages of the competition, will compete for victory. They will introduce numerous fans and jury members to their achievements and hobbies, abilities and talents in the "Business Card" competition, originally present their achievements in studies and sports in the "Portfolio" competition, and demonstrate eloquence in the public speaking competition. The best youth initiatives and projects popularizing the main activities of the BRSM of the contestants will be presented during the "Project Defense" competition. The student's profile will be supplemented by the performance of a staged sports-oriented number on the theme "Sport is a healthy lifestyle!" in the "Sports Mix" competition. The final stage will be the demonstration of creative performances by participants and support groups. Another interesting event will be the demonstration of the contestants' homework - humorous video clips on the theme "I am a student!".
The winner of the regional stage will take part in the republican (final) round of "Student of the Year", the solemn awarding and summing up of which will take place during the celebration of International Students' Day.
Before the event, master classes will be presented to numerous spectators and fans: "The Art of Photography", "Young Businessman", "Beauty in Motion" (fitness training). The organizers express their hope that participation in them will help young people become successful and develop leadership qualities.
The competition is a significant event in the student environment and is aimed at developing and supporting initiatives, the intellectual and creative potential of youth, identifying leaders, popularizing effective forms of youth participation in public life, and is also designed to promote the self-realization of students in science, art, and sports.
