24 January, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Students of the Vitebsk State Technological University (VSTU) will be involved in shaping the appearance of the regional centre. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Vitaly Dubik, Head of the Architecture and Urban Planning Department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Chief Architect of the city.
The proposal for cooperation, internships and involving design students in the development of landscape design projects and the creation of improvement elements for Vitebsk was submitted to the Chief Architect by lecturers from the Art and Technology Faculty of VSTU. The initiative has found support. "This will be a good and fruitful cooperation, as young people are full of interesting and unusual projects," said Vitaly Dubik. Urban planners already have experience of similar cooperation – future architects and designers from Minsk universities undergo internships in Vitebsk.
Currently, Vitebsk is actively developing: the Medtsentr and Bilevo microdistricts are under construction in the city, and in the future, the Sokoliniki microdistrict along the Orsha direction and Luchesa along the Beshenkovichi Highway are planned for development. A number of projects are planned for implementation in the central part of Vitebsk. "Thus, the city needs interesting ideas, and students with their immense creative potential are precisely the ones who can provide them," is confident Vitaly Dubik. -0-
