The Lepel District Court has considered a criminal case against a native of Berezino village, Dokshitsy District, who committed a crime under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The previously convicted native of Berezino village was accused of intentionally, gratuitously, and for mercenary motives, by breaking window glazing, entering a house and stealing property belonging to citizen K., namely a mobile phone complete with a battery and charger.
In late October 2018, after drinking alcohol together with his cohabitant, the native of Berezino village decided to go to Susha village, Lepel District, to borrow money from an acquaintance. The acquaintance was not at home, so he decided to break into his house. Approaching the house, he made sure no one was inside, broke the glass in the window frame, entered through the opening, and stole two mobile phones with batteries. He later gave one of the phones to his acquaintance and voluntarily handed over the second one to the police officers.
Both during the preliminary investigation and the court proceedings, the native of Berezino village admitted his guilt and sincerely repented.
Taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, the Lepel District Court found the native of Berezino village, Dokshitsy District, guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to 2 years of imprisonment in a penal colony under a strict regime.
In accordance with Part 1 of Article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, compulsory measures for the treatment of chronic alcoholism were applied to him at the place of serving his sentence.
This sentence of the Lepel District Court has entered into legal force.
