A previously convicted native of the village of Domzheritsy was accused of intentionally, gratuitously, for mercenary motives, by means of free access, stealing four hydraulic cylinders from the territory of the vehicle fleet of the State Nature Protection Institution "Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve".
The court of Lepel District considered the criminal case against a native of the village of Domzheritsy, Lepel District, who committed a crime under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. A previously convicted native of the village of Domzheritsy was accused of intentionally, gratuitously, for mercenary motives, by means of free access, stealing four hydraulic cylinders from the territory of the vehicle fleet of the State Nature Protection Institution "Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve".
In late March 2018, a native of the village of Domzheritsy decided to steal metal and subsequently sell it to earn some money. For this purpose, he went to the vehicle fleet of the State Nature Protection Institution "Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve", as he understood that he would definitely find something to profit from there. Having penetrated the territory of the vehicle fleet through an opening in the fence, he saw four hydraulic cylinders lying under a shelter for storing equipment, took them and carried them away. He decided to take this find to his friend K., whom he asked to hand them in for scrap metal in Lepel, and give him the money. A couple of days later, the accused learned that the police were looking for the stolen parts, so he went to his friend to find out if he had handed over the hydraulic cylinders. K. explained that he had thrown the parts near the rubbish bins in Lepel.
Both during the preliminary investigation and the court investigation, the native of the village of Domzheritsy pleaded guilty and sincerely repented.
Taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, the court of Lepel District found the native of the village of Domzheritsy, Lepel District, guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to 2 years of imprisonment to be served in a penal colony under a strict regime.
In accordance with Part 1 of Article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, compulsory measures of security and treatment for chronic alcoholism were applied to him at the place of serving his sentence.
This sentence of the Lepel District Court has entered into legal force.
