The court of Lepel District considered a criminal case against a native of Lepel who committed a crime under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
In mid-January 2019, a native of Lepel, along with his acquaintance, consumed alcoholic beverages. Then they went to the victim K. to drink more. Upon arriving at the victim's place, they entered the shed where the victim was located. A mobile phone lay on the windowsill, which the accused decided to steal for sale. He took the phone, put it in his trouser pocket; no one saw the moment the phone was stolen. He left the victim's shed with his acquaintance. Later, they met the victim K., who asked for the phone back, but the accused replied that he had not stolen the phone. He then hid the phone under the slate on the roof of the victim's shed.
Both during the preliminary investigation and the court proceedings, the native of Lepel admitted his guilt and sincerely repented.
Taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, the court of Lepel District found the native of Lepel guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced him to 80 hours of community service.
In accordance with Part 1 of Article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, compulsory measures for the security and treatment of chronic alcoholism were applied to him at his place of residence.
This sentence of the court of Lepel District has entered into legal force.
