31 July, Lepel /Own inf./ At the end of June, a joint Belarusian-German project "Assistance and Support for Lonely Low-Income People" was launched in the villages of Stary Lepel and Yurkovshchina. This project is between the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (North Rhine-Westphalia) and the Yerashov Gymnasium in Lepel. Ten people from each side are participating. The team is engaged in repair and construction work: painting fences, railings, roofs, installing stoves, plastering, and pasting.

The team is engaged in repair and construction work: painting fences, railings, roofs, installing stoves, plastering, and pasting.
Recently, participants of the interstate project visited the gymnasium, where they met children resting in the school summer camp, pupils learning German, and all interested parties.
The guests from Germany spoke about themselves and the work they are doing within the project. The hosts conducted a tour of the gymnasium and delighted the guests with a wonderful concert.
With a return visit, the gymnasium students visited Stary Lepel. They spoke about their educational institution, the Kupala Night ritual, danced, and sang. Then, a festive and educational program began. Divided into three detachments, the Germans received specific tasks on the ground. They searched for the fern flower, met mermaids, witches, leshys, and other evil spirits. Games by the bonfire with a purification ritual took place.
In August, the gymnasium students will go to Germany on an excursion – they will visit Bielefeld and Berlin.
