This was announced to a BELTA correspondent by the Minister of Culture of Belarus, Boris Svetlov, during the X Republican Festival of National Cultures.

According to him, about 100 festivals of various levels and directions are regularly held in Belarus. But the festival in Grodno is unique. It unites the cultural power of the country based on a very interesting characteristic, which is the uniqueness of nationalities. The distinctiveness of the culture of each people living in Belarus is not so pronounced in everyday life, but the festival showcases it in full glory, the minister explained.

The Festival of National Cultures is unique. There are no forums of this scale in the world dedicated to the culture and way of life of nationalities living within one country. Therefore, it may well be nominated to be included in the Guinness Book of Records. According to the minister, this issue is planned to be considered in detail next year. It involves, among other things, certain financial costs.

In the opinion of Boris Svetlov, the festival in Grodno allows one to experience deep and multifaceted emotions of human unity. "There is a well-known saying that a person is as much a person as the languages they know. And from a broader perspective, a state is as much a state as the nationalities that live and develop within it," the minister believes. - Representatives of more than 30 national cultures were present at the festival in Grodno this year. All of them live in our republic and have the opportunity to develop their culture, thereby making a great contribution to the culture of Belarus.
