2 May, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Consolidated youth detachments of Vitebsk will be the first in the region to receive vouchers for the "Labour Semester-2013", the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM informed a BELTA correspondent.
The ceremonial presentation of symbolic vouchers to representatives of about 20 consolidated detachments will take place today at the solemn opening ceremony of the third labour semester in the Vitebsk region, which will be held in the regional centre. About 400 young people representing all vocational, secondary specialised and higher education institutions of Vitebsk will take part in the festive event.
The deputy chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Terentyev and veterans of the student labour movement will address the youth with parting words. Also, within the framework of the republican patriotic campaign "Thank you for the Victory!", the participants of the event will lay flowers at the Eternal Flame of the memorial complex in honour of the liberator soldiers, partisans and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region.
After the solemn part, young people will be able to view an exhibition of photographs taken by student detachments during the "Labour Semester-2012", as well as receive full consultation on employment opportunities during the summer period firsthand and fill out an application form for those wishing to be employed. In addition, at the same time, the first student detachment of the region, "Svyazist" (Telecommunications Specialist) of the Higher State College of Telecommunications of the regional centre, will begin its work at the reconstruction of the building at 5a Pravdy Street.
In total, over the past year, more than 15.3 thousand pupils and students of the Vitebsk region took part in the "Labour Semester-2012", working as part of 757 student detachments (construction, agricultural, pedagogical, environmental, service). Individual jobs were found for 416 pupils. Among those employed, 7.3 thousand were minors.-0-
