Over two thousand domestic observers are monitoring the election campaign in the Vitebsk region, stated Leonid Dorofeenko, Deputy Head of the Organisational and Personnel Work Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, to a BELTA correspondent. About fifty observers are accredited with 14 district election commissions, the rest are with precinct commissions. Public organisations nominated almost 80% of observers, 16.6% of observers were delegated by work collectives, and party structures – only 7 people. Currently, long-term international observers are also working in the region. District election commissions are monitoring the readiness of precinct commissions for early voting, which will begin on 18 September, and are also overseeing preparations for the main voting day – 23 September. Updated voter lists are already available at the polling stations, and each citizen can contact their precinct commission to ensure their name is included in these lists. In the Vitebsk region, 898 polling stations have been established, including 48 in sanatoria, rest homes, hospitals and other inpatient medical and preventive institutions, and 2 in military units.-0-
