Over 700 educational institutions in the Vitebsk region implemented a labour protection management system in 2011 in accordance with current standards, the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. To ensure a safe educational process in the region's educational institutions, 63 labour protection classrooms have been equipped and are operational. Last year, 134 employees improved their qualifications in this area, and 64 seminars were held with the participation of almost 1.7 thousand people. As part of the implementation of state policy in the field of labour protection and prevention of child injuries in the region's educational institutions, the regional competition "Labour Protection Through the Eyes of Children" was held. Implementing the requirements of the republican program for improving working conditions, a review competition among educational institutions continues this year. In 2011, 628 institutions participated in it. To create healthy and safe conditions for students in educational institutions, implement fire safety measures and observe fire safety regulations, Br1.7 billion was spent in 2011 (compared to Br4.6 billion in 2010).
