On July 25, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Over half a ton of contraband bags, leather clothing and footwear were seized by employees of the Vitebsk Customs at the "Orsha-Vostochnaya" station, the Vitebsk Customs informed a BELTA correspondent. A mobile group of the customs' operational search department, based on received operational information, stopped the movement of a railway car traveling from Germany to Kazakhstan in transit through Belarus. The car contained a 40-foot container, which, according to the submitted documents, was carrying second-hand clothing. However, during the customs control operation, it was established that in addition to the declared used clothing, the container was carrying bags, leather clothing and footwear that showed no signs of significant wear. Such transformations of second-hand goods into quality items are indicative of an administrative offense provided for by Part 5 of Article 14.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus. Five days ago, the inventory of the undeclared goods and their preparation for seizure according to the inspection report were initiated. The total quantity of new goods at this time is 500 kg. Its seizure is ongoing. The value of the contraband will be calculated later. -0-
