On 13.11.2018, tactical special exercises were held in Lepel District to test the readiness of the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) forces and assets for action in emergency situations, and to practice emergency rescue operations.
The exercises unfolded across 2 sites, each with a distinct scenario: a road traffic accident involving 2 trucks with a subsequent fire on the M3 Minsk-Vitebsk highway at the 146 km mark, as well as the collapse of roofs on two farm buildings and the failure of a substation.
An operational group of the Emergency Situations Commission under the Lepel District Executive Committee attended the emergency site and supervised the emergency response.
Forces and assets of the Lepel District unit of the Vitebsk Territorial Subsystem of the SFRS were involved in eliminating the consequences of the emergency.
