Also on this day, a ceremonial rally was held in the square on Freedom Square, which marked the start of the republican campaign "Belarus Remembers. On the Roads of the Victors," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

This place contains the mass graves of soldiers from the Kirov, Yaroslavl, Smolensk, and Ryazan regions of Russia, who died during the liberation of the Lepel region, as well as Hero of the Soviet Union, commander of the partisan brigade "Alexey," a native of the Saratov region Alexey Danukalov, commander of the Stalin partisan brigade Dmitry Korolenko, and our countryman, commander of the 2nd detachment of the "Dubova" partisan brigade Anatoly Marunko.

In their welcoming speeches, the distinguished guests noted the significance of the battalion's activities, especially in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, and also emphasised that the war is not over until the last soldier is buried.

Participants of the campaign laid flowers at the graves of the fallen and observed a minute of silence in their memory.
