August 29, Zhabinka /Svetlana Vechorko - BELTA/. The first-category tariff rate in Belarus will increase by 4-5% from September 1 of the current year. This was announced to journalists today by Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Tozik, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent.
"The government proposes to increase the first-category tariff rate from September 1 to the extent permitted by the budget. The draft document is under consideration by the Head of State," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
The September increase in the first-category tariff rate will be the third this year. Thus, with the aim of increasing the wages of employees of budget organizations and partially compensating for expenses caused by the growth of the consumer price index, it was increased from January 1 from Br225 thousand to Br240 thousand. From April 1, the first-category tariff rate for the remuneration of employees of budget organizations and other organizations receiving subsidies, whose employees are equated in remuneration to employees of budget organizations, was set at Br250 thousand.
The increase in the first-category tariff rate will allow for an increase in the wages of employees in the public sector, numbering about 900,000 people in the country, as well as an increase in the amounts of state scholarships for students.
Anatoly Tozik today took part in the regional meeting of pedagogical workers of the Brest region, which took place in Zhabinka.-0-
