Tariffs for the population for thermal energy for heating and hot water supply, and natural gas in Belarus have been increased by an average of 10% from August 1, 2011. This is stated in Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 1031, posted on the National Legal Internet Portal of Belarus, BELTA reports. According to the document, from August 1, the tariff for thermal energy for heating and hot water supply has been increased by 9.9% from Br43,458.3 to Br47,804.1 per 1 Gcal. The cost of natural gas for the population has also been increased by an average of 10%. For example, for citizens whose residential buildings (apartments) are equipped with individual gas consumption meters, the cost of 1 cubic meter of natural gas in the summer period will be Br933.6 (previously Br848.7), in the heating period the price will remain the same - Br307.7 (if individual gas heating appliances and/or gas water heaters (gas heating appliances for water heating) are available). In the absence of individual gas heating appliances, the price will be Br933.6 (previously Br848.7). If the residential premises are not equipped with individual gas consumption meters, the tariff for one resident with a gas stove and centralized hot water supply or an individual water heater (excluding gas) will be Br7,468 per month (previously Br6,789.6). With a gas stove and a gas water heater (in the absence of centralized hot water supply), this amount will increase to Br21,472 (previously Br19,520.1). In addition, from August 1, the cost of liquefied petroleum gas in cylinders weighing 21 kg has been increased by 10%. The price of 1 kg of liquefied gas will be Br2,170.3 (previously Br1,973), and the price per cylinder will be Br45,580 (Br41,430). -0-
