Tatsiana Tumanova has been re-elected as Chairperson of the Board of the Vitebsk Regional Branch of the Public Association "Belarusian Peace Foundation" at the VIII Reporting and Election Conference, which took place at the regional executive committee.

The Public Association "Belarusian Peace Foundation" is one of the oldest and most respected public movements in the country, which, based on voluntary contributions and donations, supports, organises and conducts anti-war and peacekeeping actions, and carries out extensive propaganda and information and explanatory work. The goals of the BPF are to strengthen peace, friendship, mutual understanding and accord between people and nations, and to promote and implement the ideas of mercy and humanism.

The Chairperson of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, highly praised the activities of the association.

– Today there are many organisations involved in preserving memory, working with youth and the older generation, and providing social support. But the Peace Foundation stands out most prominently in all these areas, – noted Vladimir Terentyev. – Throughout its existence, it has implemented many projects, and recently it has been acting comprehensively – in perpetuating the memory of fallen soldiers, installing memorials, assisting peacekeepers, and educating youth. Thanks to the foundation's initiative, 12 peace schools are operating in the regions. The "Care" project is aimed at working with people who lack attention and participation. The Peace Foundation can be called one of the pillars of our civil society.
