The Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theatre will present its first mobile performance for young audiences on December 10, Svetlana Dashkevich, head of the theatre's literary department, told a BELTA correspondent. The fairy tale-game "How the Wolf Became a Mother" was staged by Honoured Artist of Belarus Vyacheslav Grushov based on a widely known Soviet cartoon for children aged three and up. The Kolas Theatre has preserved the touching plot of the story: the Wolf (Timur Zhusupov) stole a little Calf (Alexander Bazuk, Yevgeny Lukyanov) to eat him, but then grew attached to him and began to raise him as his own child, protecting him from the advances of the Fox and the Boar. The performance is filled with songs, dances, and appeals from the main characters to the young viewers for help or hints, making it lively and exceptionally engaging for toddlers. The Kolas Theatre paid the utmost attention to the creation of the sets during the preparation of the production. They were designed to be used not only on the theatre's main or chamber stage but also to be suitable for decorating the music halls of kindergartens. This feature makes the entire performance mobile, as artists will now be able to present a fully staged fairy tale to toddlers in preschool institutions, Svetlana Dashkevich emphasized. Previously, the theatre troupe staged the performance "The Sorceress and the Little Dinosaur" for the youngest audiences. However, its sets can only be used to decorate the theatre's chamber stage, which does not allow for the full colour of the fairy tale to be conveyed during its presentation in kindergartens, the interlocutor added. -0-
