Recently, the requirements for the technical condition of buses used for transporting schoolchildren have been significantly strengthened. In addition to previous requirements, new ones are being introduced. Among the latter is the requirement for an orange flashing beacon (strobe light).

We remind you that such a beacon does not grant any advantage; it simply attracts the attention of other drivers, urging them to be more vigilant.

The beacon on the bus must be connected to the entrance doors and switch on when they are opened. This is done so that other drivers are more attentive when passing bus stops, as a child may suddenly run out from behind the bus and get hit by another vehicle.

Also, new school buses must be equipped with a reverse alarm, which should also enhance traffic safety. Among other things, requirements are being introduced for equipping such transport with public address systems, driver call buttons, and, mandatorily, handrails.

Many questions are being asked about the payment for state technical inspection services. Since January 5th, the technical inspection of a passenger car with a petrol engine costs 120,000 roubles, and with a diesel or gas engine – 125,000 roubles. The traffic rules specifically state that the sticker confirming the passing of the state technical inspection must be located in the lower right corner of the windscreen.
