October 16, Minsk /Maria Dmitrieva - BELTA/. A technical regulation on the energy efficiency of buildings is being developed in Belarus. This was announced today by the Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization, Viktor Nazarenko, speaking at the V International Conference "Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Improvement. Energy Efficiency in the Residential Sector: Current Trends and Practical Experience," held during the XIX Belarusian Energy and Environmental Forum in Minsk, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"A decision has been made to develop a separate technical regulation on the energy efficiency of buildings. And one of the organizations of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction has already started this work," said Viktor Nazarenko.

According to him, it is absolutely necessary for such a document to be created. "Continuing to reduce energy efficiency in construction solely to the thermal resistance of enclosing structures is, from our point of view, quite primitive," noted Viktor Nazarenko. In a number of countries, the work on ensuring the energy efficiency of buildings and structures is approached much more broadly. For example, in EU countries, when constructing facilities, specialists use integrated building energy performance assessment systems, evaluating energy efficiency indicators comprehensively.

The XIX Belarusian Energy and Environmental Forum is taking place in Minsk from October 14 to 17 in accordance with the decree of the Prime Minister of Belarus. The forum includes the international specialized exhibition "Energy. Ecology. Energy Saving. Electro" EnergyExpo, the IX International Specialized Exhibition "Water and Air Technologies" (Water&Air Technologies), the X Specialized Exhibition of Lighting Equipment "ExpoSvet" (ExpoLight), and the XIX Belarusian Energy and Environmental Congress.
