May 5, Minsk / Tatyana Lobas - BELTA /. Trade organizations of Belarus have actively supported the campaign "To War Veterans with Love and Gratitude", which is currently being held in the country, BELTA was informed at the Ministry of Trade.
Many trade organizations have reduced the trade markup on certain industrial goods (by 10-100%) for veterans and persons affected by the consequences of the war, and provide free home delivery of bulky goods. For example, the capital's GUM offers a 65% discount on clothing, footwear, outerwear, hosiery and corsetry, Trading House "Na Nemige" sells all non-food items without a trade markup, and TSUM "Minsk" and Department Store "Belarus" offer a 10% discount from the retail price on the entire range of non-food industrial goods, and provide free additional services (gift packaging, fitting and minor alterations of garments, overlocking of carpets, home delivery of bulky goods with carrying to the floor, etc.).
In all districts of Minsk, catering establishments are organizing charity dinners (lunches) for veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
In May, ex-works prices for footwear "Aladen", "Otiko", "Blik", "Belvest", "Krasny Oktyabr" have been reduced by 10-20%, and by 10% for some models of leather goods "Galanteya" and "Kadziya", which, combined with a simultaneous reduction in trade markup by 10-20%, will significantly reduce the cost of goods sold for buyers.
Industrial enterprises, within their own distribution networks, are also reducing prices for veterans by 5-30%. Their gifts to veterans will be presented during the charity event by OOO "Mogotex Service" (Minsk), OJSC "KIM" (Vitebsk), OJSC "Kupalinka" (Soligorsk), OJSC "Motovelo" and ChUPP "Vetraź-AV", SP "Dynamo Program".
Special attention is paid to serving veterans of the Great Patriotic War living in small settlements. Mobile shops deliver goods at least twice a week, including on pre-order.
On May 9, small retail trade will be widely deployed in places of mass celebrations, and a soldier's kitchen will also be operating. On this day, the trade network will operate as usual.-0-
